I'm only a few books into the challenge but this is my favourite book so far. The story of a marriage under the unbearable strain of infertility in a society that values parenthood and children above all else. A couple who are truly in love but unable to cross the chasm of their pain, leading to betrayals and breakdowns that seem irreparable, with an unexpected breath-of-hope ending.
