Phenomenal memoir. Highly recommend the audiobook version. The author shares of Somali culture, history, political transitions, and civil war through her perspective as a young girl, and later as a refugee. I felt transported to the Somali desert with the author. The book is a beautiful tribute to the lessons the author learned from her grandmother.
