This book reads likes a Wes Anderson movie but without quite as much nuance. It is a wonderful mystery wrapped up with stories about love and finding a way through life, but while it is very entertaining, I found nothing unique in it. Every characters finds just what they are looking for and there is a happy ending for each. It also reaffirms a societal narrative of the only true happiness coming from attainment of family/children. I only mention this as a negative aspect of the book because of the last pages giving resources for suicide prevention. I think a better contribution by an author for suicide prevention would be to create a new narrative which says that a person can feel whole without having kids or a husband or a wife.
