I thought this book was excellent. Yeonmi Park tells a gripping story about her life in North Korea and her escape to South Korea.
I would recommend this book to people who already have a basic knowledge of North Korea and human rights violations in general. Some simple understanding of how trauma affects people would also be beneficial. This knowledge is not necessary to understand what is presented in the book, it is well written and very comprehensible, but it will help with an overall understanding of why her words and her story are important.
