The Quiet American

I do not know how I have gotten this far without reading Graham Greene. This book was quietly brilliant - and not a big hit in the US from what I've read - because of how Greene wrote of the American "involvement" in Vietnam before it fought a war there. The ending was a surprise and perfect for the entire story.
