This book of folktales from the Fon culture is delightful. I enjoyed the short commentaries about each one. In the oral tradition, the author makes some tweaks of his own. The block print illustrations are wonderful too. The binding and paper are good quality, A must for your library.

Echoing Neil Benton's review this book is delightful. It's also funny, beautiful, unique while also hitting a few common themes in folktales from around the world. It's also approachable and the author has just the right amount of commentary to give a little context but not so much that's it becomes an academic slog.
This is one of my favorite books I've read in this challenge.
