"Sure he threatened his girlfriend, but he's a nice boy. Maybe she just brings out the worst in him" is a wild ass take to have from your main character with 0 pushback. The entire book victim blames the woman killed. And I'm begging people to understand that blind people are usually not fully blind and you don't need a magical explanation for why they can vaguely see things.
